Sexually transmitted infections (STIs) are super common and can affect anyone who’s ever had oral, vaginal or anal sex. Many STIs have no symptoms and if left untreated can cause long-term health impacts. That’ why it’s so important to get tested, because you may not even know you have one.
The good news? Most STIs are quick and easy to treat.
In the past, people thought testing was too embarrassing or expensive (it’s usually free), but it’s great to see more young people are stepping up and getting tested as a way to take control of their sexual health.
You can just ask for an STI test next time you see your GP or find your nearest testing clinic.
